David Funk
"The Son of God, The heart of heaven, Given to us"
Originally from North Georgia, David Funk now lives in Redding, California, with his wife and son, where he leads worship for Bethel Church and is a part of Bethel Music. A church boy through and through, he has a passion for the local church and specifically the development of local worship teams, not in skill alone, but also in the pursuit of the presence of God, individually and corporately.
Upon completing his third year at Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, Funk found himself singing in front of thousands on Bethel Music's “Victory Tour” and “Roadshow Tour” during an internship with Kalley Heiligenthal. He has since led worship across the country and locally at Bethel Church. While leading "Touch of Heaven + Alabaster Heart (Live)" for the first time on a Sunday night at Bethel Church, he experienced an anointed, holy moment, further cementing his path. As Funk's first single with Bethel Music, the song introduced him in his truest element–ushering in high praise and keeping the focus on Jesus. Funk also appears on several Bethel Music albums including Homecoming (2021) leading "Son Of Suffering”; Simple (2022) on "Our Jesus"; Come Up Here (2023) singing “Beauty”; and Moments: Wait (Live) leading “The Blood (Live)” and “When You Walk Into The Room (Spontaneous) [Live]” with Jenn Johnson. Most recently, he released the EP, Beauty, including a new live and acoustic version, in addition to the recording from Come Up Here. He also collaborated with the group Housefires on a version of "Rest On Us" that was released in 2024.
Funk thrives in an environment where everyone is passionately worshiping. His dream is to lead people into the presence of God, where every person present is solely focused on Him. When he’s not traveling, he enjoys being at home with his family (and cats), having game nights and dinner parties with friends, and producing music for churches and artists.
